At Bukit Jangkrik Traditional Village, visitors can not only enjoy the beauty of Natural Water Swim, but also experience melukat. Melukat is a traditional Balinese ritual performed to cleanse the spirit and body of negative energy and sin. Melukat sites are usually located in sacred water sources such as rivers, lakes, or natural springs that are believed to have strong spiritual energy. Around the melukat site, the greenery of the trees and the serenity of nature add to the spiritual atmosphere. Participants, dressed in traditional white clothes, begin by praying at the temple associated with the water source. Afterwards, they follow a series of rituals led by th
e priest, including dipping water on the hands, pouring water on the head, and immersing themselves in the holy water. Melukat is not only a physical cleansing, but also has symbolic meaning in Balinese Hinduism. Water flows as a channel of spiritual energy that cleanses the body, mind, and soul. The ritual is also performed at special moments in life, such as after an illness, before an important ceremony, or to seek protection and spiritual strength from divine forces. Despite Bali's modernization, the practice of melukat remains an integral part of the island's cultural and spiritual identity, passed down from generation to generation.
